The indiscriminate attacks and brutal atrocities of Israel on the innocent “civilian” population of Gaza is still going on. The death toll in Gaza, mostly children and women, has passed 10 thousand and is getting higher every hour. Collective punishment of Palestinian people in all the occupied Palestinian territories constitutes war-crime and crime against humanity by Israel. Israeli officials should be held responsible for their crimes.

Under these circumstances, Türkiye’s position is crystal clear since the very first day: “Immediate declaration of ceasefire and cessation of hostilities”. These attacks of Israel against the civilian should be stopped immediately.
Another important aspect is the unhindered flow of humanitarian assistance into Gaza. We are all aware that 2,5 million people in Gaza is deprived of basic human needs, food, water, electricity and fuel. So far, Türkiye has sent 10 aircraft loads of humanitarian aid, approximately carrying 215 tones and a large vessel arrived in Egypt, having on board 50 containers full of field hospitals, medical equipment/medicine and other assistance materials. Türkiye will continue its humanitarian efforts and assistance to Gaza by any means. However, if such assistance does not go into Gaza, they are useless. Blockading the humanitarian assistance, direly needed in Gaza, is inhuman. Israel should allow all humanitarian assistances to go in Gaza immediately.

To end this hostility and misery, the Israeli-Palestinian problem should be settled once and for all. We firmly believe that on two-state vision, Israel and Palestine living in secure and pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the capital of independent, sovereign and geographically contiguous State of Palestine. The lasting peace is the key for the resolution of this conflict.

Türkiye has been vocal advocate of the rights and safety of the Palestinian people
since the beginning of this crisis, at all international platforms including UN, OIC,
ECO and Organization of Turkic States.
In this regard, another high-level initiative for peace in Palestine, is launched by
H.E. Mrs. Emine Erdoğan, First Lady of the Republic of Türkiye. H.E. Mrs.
Erdoğan is hosting the spouses of the Heads of States and Governments of the
friendly and brotherly countries for the “United for Peace for Palestine” meeting
today (15th November 2023) in İstanbul. This meeting is aimed to draw attention
of the international community to the tragedy of civilians, especially children,
women, the patients and the disabled, in Gaza. It is also be a call for a just and
lasting peace, and mobilizing the international community to act against Israel’s
atrocities and attacks. H.E. Mrs. Begum Sadia Rehmat Ullah, spouse of H.E.
Prime Minister Anwaar-ul Haq Kakar and H.E. Mrs. Shaista Jilani, spouse of H.E.
Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, are also participating this meeting.
Since the establishment of the Republic, Türkiye has been pursuing a policy for
secure, stable and prosperous region. The motto of “Peace at home, peace abroad”
will continue to shape our foreign policy objectives. This way of thinking is also
appropriate for the conflict between Palestine-Israel. We believe that this conflict
should be resolved in accordance with the international law and with respect to
the rights of Palestinian people.
